Naomi Watts is returning to the small screen for the first time since the start of the career. Deadline reported that the actress has been cast as the lead in a new psychological thriller coming to Netflix in 2017. The series received a straight-to-series order for 10 episodes.
Watts will play “Jean Holloway – a therapist who begins to develop dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients’ lives.”
Watts will also act as an executive producer on the series. She will join the behind the scenes team that also includes “[Lisa] Rubin, Sean Jablonski, who serves as showrunner, Liza Chasin and Working Title’s Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner and Andrew Stearn.”
An exact premiere date for the series has not yet been revealed. Watts started her career on Australian television, and her first role in the United States was on NBC’s Sleepwalkers.
