Samira Wiley is headed to Hulu. Deadline reports the Orange is the New Black actress will star in the streaming service’s upcoming series The Handmaid’s Tale.
Based on the Margaret Atwood novel, the drama takes place in a dystopian theocracy where women are considered property. The cast includes Elisabeth Moss, Max Minghella, and Ann Dowd.
Wiley will play “Moira, the college best friend Offred (Moss), her fellow handmaid-in-training at the Red Center.”
The Handmaid’s Tale is slated to premiere in 2017.
