Laverne & Shirley TV show

Could we be seeing a new Laverne, Shirley, Fonz, or Richie? Garry Marshall, the creator of Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, recently told Radio Times a reboot is possible for the two classic sitcoms.

Happy Days premiered in 1974 and ran for 11 seasons before ending in 1984. The cast included Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Anson Williams, Marion Ross, and Tom BosleyA spin-off of Happy DaysLaverne & Shirley starred Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams as two best friends living together. The sitcom ended in 1983 after eight seasons.

Speaking to Radio Times, Marshall said a reboot of Happy Days and/or Laverne & Shirley is very possible:

It’s very possible that Laverne & Shirley or Happy Days will be back. They talk about it, but again it’s all Paramount who owns it and they may do it because they talk to me about everything.”

So who would Marshall cast as the new Fonz?:

You have to be open. When I was looking for the original Fonz I was looking for a tall Italian guy on the streets of New York and I get a short Jewish guy from Yale. I don’t know who would be him today – there’s always somebody new coming up.”

What do you think? Are you fan of either Happy Days or Laverne & Shirley? Would you watch a reboot?
