Happy Days creator Garry Marshall said, “Tom was a talented professional in front of the camera and behind the scenes. He provided a positive influence over all of the young actors on Happy Days. Audiences will never forget the lovable Howard Cunningham who made us laugh on Tuesday nights. He was a good friend. I will miss him. Comedy will miss him.”
Marion Ross recalled, “He was my husband for 11 years and the father of the company in many ways. We made a perfect couple.”
Ron Howard told E! “Tom’s insight, talent, strength of character and comic timing made him a vital central figure in the Happy Days experience… A great father and husband, and a wonderful artist, Tom led by example, and made us all laugh while he was doing it. My last conversations with Tom reflected the love of life and peace of mind that he always maintained throughout his full and rewarding life. I miss him already.”
Henry Winkler noted, ““Tom was a family member, both on and off the sound stage. We acted together, traveled together and played charades together. He was a loving husband, a doting father and a fantastic grandfather. He will be so missed but never forgotten by the Winkler Family or the world.”
Scott Baio tweeted, “Mr. Tom Bosley will be missed by many. He was a great actor, teacher and man.” He later told E! that Bosley was like everybody’s father and added, “He was a good guy and he helped us all within the business and in terms of business. He was a professional and funny guy. I miss him.”
Angela Lansbury, who worked with Bosley on Murder, She Wrote, expressed her sadness over the news and added, “It is a loss for us not to have Tom with us anymore, but I know he had a wonderful life and he loved his wife and his family. He was a very genuine individual.”
Danny Masterson, who worked with Bosley when he guest-starred on That 70’s Show, tweeted, “He was a lovely lovely man. Cheers Tom.”
Neil Patrick Harris starred opposite Bosley on Broadway and wrote, “Such a wonderful man. We worked together in Cabaret on Broadway. So kind. He will be missed…”
