Happy Endings: Deadline Looms to Save Cancelled ABC Sitcom

Happy EndingsIt’s been more than a month since ABC cancelled Happy Endings and Sony TV are still trying to make a deal to keep the series going. Unfortunately, time is running out.

According to TV Line, the studio’s contracts with the cast expire next week. When that happens, the show’s chances for a return will essentially evaporate.

There are supposedly no offers on the table at this point (USA bowed out awhile ago) but Sony execs are still trying to find Happy Endings a new home and will keep trying until the end.

If any studio can get it done, it’s Sony. In the past couple years, they’ve been successful at keeping shows like Drop Dead Diva alive, despite cancellations.

What do you think? Are you hoping that Happy Endings can be saved at the last minute? Would you pay to watch new episodes?

UPDATE: Sony has reportedly given up on trying to find a new home for Happy Endings. It’s staying cancelled.
