The Harley and the Davidsons crew has some new members. This week, Discovery announced Wilson Bethel and Dougray Scott have been cast in the network’s upcoming mini-series.
The three-part series chronicles the early days of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle company, which was founded in 1903.
Bethel will play “Ray Weishaar, an infamous member of the Harley-Davidson “Wrecking Crew,” who helped popularize the slang term “hog” in reference to Harley.” Meanwhile, Scott has been cast as “Randall James, CEO of Indian Motorcycles, Harley’s chief competitor.”
The two join other cast members Michiel Huisman, Robert Aramayo, and Bug Hall.
Harley and the Davidsons premieres on September 5th on Discovery.

(Los Angeles, Calif.) – Discovery Channel announced today that it has cast two additional key roles in its highly-anticipated mini-series HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS, premiering Monday, September 5.
Wilson Bethel has been cast in the role of Ray Weishaar, an infamous member of the Harley-Davidson “Wrecking Crew,” who helped popularize the slang term “hog” in reference to Harley, after taking victory laps with the team’s pig mascot. For the past four years, Bethel has starred in The CW’s “Hart of Dixie.” Last summer, he starred in ABC’s “Astronaut Wives Club” and recently wrapped filming the pilot “Infamous” for A&E. Bethel’s other TV appearances include ABC’s “How To Get Away with Murder,” “Criminal Minds,” “Blood & Oil”; HBO’s “Treme” and “Generation Kill”; A&E’s “Bates Motel” among others. He also has appeared in several films including “Inherent Vice,” opposite Joaquin Phoenix and Martin Short.
Dougray Scott has been cast to play Randall James, CEO of Indian Motorcycles, Harley’s chief competitor. Scott has an extensive background in film, television and stage. Scott has starred in both independent and studio films with over 35 credits. He has starred alongside Tom Cruise in “Mission: Impossible 2.” Other film credits include “Enigma” opposite Kate Winslet as well as “Ripley’s Game.” He later joined Jennifer Connelly as the lead in “Dark Water,” and starred in the 2007 “Hit Man.” More recently, Scott was in the critically-acclaimed “My Week with Marilyn.” He’s also been in “New Town Killers” directed by Richard Jobson, “The Last Passenger” by Omid Nooshin and “Taken 3” with Liam Neeson. His television credits include Netflix’s “Hemlock Grove”; ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” “The Ten Commandments”; NBC’s “Heist”; and Cinemax’s “Strikeback.” He recently finished shooting the acclaimed TV series “Full Circle Miami” and AMC’s “Fear of the Walking Dead.”
The actors will join a cast that currently includes Michiel Huisman (“Game of Thrones”), Robert Aramayo (“Game of Thrones”), Bug Hall (“The Little Rascals”) Stephen Rider (“Daredevil”), Jessica Camacho (“Sleepy Hollow”), Daniel Coonan (“EastEnders”), Annie Read (“Awkward”), Gabe Luna (“Matador”), Alex Shaffer (“Win Win”) and newcomers Essa O’Shea and Sean Scully.
From Raw Television, production of HARLEY AND THE DAVIDSONS is currently taping and consists of three two-hour installments. The mini-series will tell the story of the birth of the iconic Harley-Davidson brand that launched in 1903 by two friends from Milwaukee, William Harley and Arthur Davidson.”
