Hellfire and Legion: Marvel Developing Two Series for FOX, FX

Hellfire Club

Marvel fans, assemble! Two new Marvel series, Legion and Hellfire, are in works at FX and FOX (respectively), according to The Hollywood Reporter.

At FX, Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley is working with Marvel on a television adaptation of Legion, the story of Professor Charles Xavier’s mutant son, David Haller, an antihero diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder. Hawley is set to write the pilot, and the series is the second FX comic book adaptation announced this week, the other being Y: The Last Man

At FOX, Marvel will be producing the series Hellfire, based on the club of elite millionaires who often team up against the X-Men. The show comes from co-creators Evan Katz, Manny Coto (both previously of 24), Patrick McKay, and John D. Payne.

From Fox Broadcasting Co. President David Madden:

We are thrilled to partner with Marvel to bring this world to television and build upon the vibrant mythology that has captivated fans for years. These powerful and dynamic characters are complicated and larger-than-life, the pace and visual imagination are unrelenting and the story takes place during one of the most explosive eras in recent history. We are so looking forward to working with this incredibly talented team.”

No news yet on a premiere date for either series.

What do you think? Are you a fan of either Legion or the Hellfire Club? Are you excited about so many comic book shows coming to the small screen?
