Yelp is coming to the small screen! If you have left reviews for businesses on the site in the past, you know reviews can be brutal. Help My Yelp is a new series that will launch next month. Monti Carlo will host the six-episode series.
Food Network shared a press release detailing the new series. Check that out below.
“In today’s culinary world, online reviews can make or break a restaurant – and in the new series Help My Yelp, chef and restaurant consultant Monti Carlo is on a mission to help struggling food businesses improve their food and service. In each episode, members of Yelp’s Elite Squad secretly visit the establishments and give their no-holds-barred feedback directly to the restaurant owners and Monti, who also uses undercover cameras to find out what’s really happening in the kitchen and at the tables. Armed with this behind-the-scenes knowledge about the restaurant’s problems, Monti brings on solutions, fixes and fresh ideas, along with another chance for success – a visit from a different group of Yelp Elite Squad members who provide real-time feedback based on their experience at the new and improved restaurant. Help My Yelp premieres Monday, April 10th at 10pm ET/PT.
“Yelp reviews have a huge influence on a restaurant’s success or failure these days, and this show takes a unique look at what can be done to improve a food establishment’s online reputation,” said Didi O’Hearn, Senior Vice President Programming, Food Network and Cooking Channel. “Between Monti’s expertise and Yelp user’s feedback, these restaurants are given the opportunity to reboot their business – and it’s uplifting to watch.”
Monti Carlo is a chef, restaurant consultant, and bacon aficionado. She spent decades working front and back of the house at restaurants across the country before she traded her apron for a microphone. After hosting award-winning morning radio shows in Phoenix, Atlanta and Seattle, Monti stepped back in the kitchen and has appeared as a judge on shows including Cutthroat Kitchen, Chopped Junior and Food Network Star. The Puerto Rican blogger is also behind islandgirlcooks.com.”
