TV show description:
A brave and brawny son of the classical Greek gods, Hercules (Kevin Sorbo), makes his way through a fantasy version of Ancient Greece.

Traveling with the mythological hero is usually one of two sidekicks, helpful Iolaus (Michael Hurst) or opportunistic Salmoneus (Robert Trebor). Together, they defend the weak and innocent by battling legendary monsters and nemeses.

In the early adventures, Hercules’ evil stepmother Hera (Meg Foster) causes most of the trouble for our hero.

Later villains include the god of war, Ares (Kevin Smith); evil god Dahak (Michael Hurst, later Mark Newnham); and Xena (Lucy Lawless). The latter reformed and was the subject of her own spin-off series, Xena: Warrior Princess.
