(Silver Spring, Md.) – Class is back in session! American Heroes Channel (AHC) announced today the return of its breakout series, WHAT HISTORY FORGOT, hosted by high school teacher and history buff Joe Moniaci. Premiering Saturday, March 5 at 10/9c, the second season of WHAT HISTORY FORGOT features six all-new episodes of fascinating forgotten stories that never made it into the textbooks – but that made an impact on our world today. From a pig that may have started a war to a group of fearless children who ignited the Civil Rights movement, Moniaci brings these lost histories and more to life as he travels the United States to speak first-hand with experts, visit landmarks and ultimately learn WHAT HISTORY FORGOT.
“WHAT HISTORY FORGOT provides viewers with real, fascinating stories that will change the way they look at history,” said Kevin Bennett, general manager of American Heroes Channel. “Joe’s infectious passion and expertise puts the spotlight on the lesser-known side of history, further establishing AHC as a dependable and entertaining resource for historical information.”
In the premiere episode titled, “Defying the Nazis,” Moniaci delves into some of the biggest deceptions, the clandestine operations and the secret weapons used by the Allies to help defy the Nazis in World War II. We all know of the crippling air assaults America unleashed on Germany during the war, but what about the top-secret village destroyed by our pilots in order to hone these deadly skills? Moniaci then uncovers a chilling secret hidden in sinister Nazi propaganda, and sits down exclusively with a woman who reveals the startling truth behind one of the most iconic pieces of Hitler’s campaign for the pure Aryan race. Lastly, Moniaci looks into our fight with the Nazis that began nearly a year prior to Pearl Harbor… and in a place frighteningly close to home.
