Homestead Rescue, Bushcraft Build-Off: Discovery TV Shows Return Next Week

Discovery Channel TV shows

Homestead Rescue and Bushcraft Build-Off are both coming back to the small screen next week. The shows will premiere new seasons on November 15.

Discovery Channel revealed more about the return of both shows in a press release. Check that out below.

“The Raney family is back to battle all that mother nature can throw at them as they come to the aid of desperate homesteaders across the nation in a dramatic new season of HOMESTEAD RESCUE. Father Marty, daughter Misty, and son Matt will help struggling families learn new bush craft skills, protect their livestock, grow food, and face the most grueling challenges yet seen, leaving some with the stark decision to tough it out or pack it up and head back for civilization. Returning at a new time, an all-new season of HOMESTEAD RESCUE premieres Wednesday, November 15 at 9pm ET/PT, preceded by a special episode featuring never before seen footage at 8pm ET/PT.

In the last decade, two million Americans have escaped the pressures of urban existence for the promise of a simple life on the homestead. However, living off the grid is no easy feat, and statistics show that many homesteads fail – sometimes tragically.

But help is at hand for rookies on the edge of failure. Building ingenious log cabins, firing up ancient gas wells, fighting biblical storms, combating multiple apex predators, and breathing new life into failing homesteads are all in a day’s work for Marty, Misty, and Matt Raney. A cry for help to the Raneys brings salvation as homesteader hopefuls are taught how to turn their situation around and survive and thrive in the wilderness. But at the end of the day, each family must decide if they will stick it out for the long-haul or head back to society.

HOMESTEAD RESCUE is produced for Discovery by Raw Television. For Raw Television, Mike Griffiths and Sam Maynard serve as Executive Producers. For Discovery, Chris Rantamaki serves as Senior Vice President of Production & Development, Matt Vafiadis serves as Executive Producer, and Jessica Mollo serves as Associate Producer.

Discovery is taking survival to a new level as they search for the most talented bushcrafters from across the country. Hosted by primitive skills master Matt Graham, Bushcraft Build-Off, premiering on Wednesday, November 15th at 10pm ET/PT, is an all-new competition series where elite builders compete in a gruelling, seven-day race against the clock. And this is a bushcraft challenge, so there’s no hardware store in sight. The builders can only use the natural materials in their immediate surroundings.

This competition will test the primitive building skills that have allowed survivalists to thrive in the wilderness for generations. But is now amplified on the web and through social media as these young masters attempt to outdo one another with more and more elaborate builds.

Leading the Bushcraft Build-Off charge is legendary bushcrafter Matt Graham (Dual Survival). Each week, Matt challenges two master bushcrafters to compete head-to-head in builds that test their abilities in different environments, topography and primitive living challenges. Each build pushes the competitors’ skills, stamina and creativity to the limit as they try to create eye-popping builds – from bridges to weapons to structures to transportation – using nothing but their hard-won skills, a few simple hand tools and whatever resources nature provides.

Bushcrafting’s Best is a Discovery GO companion series that gives an in-depth look at the build process of host Matt Graham’s favorite builds from Discovery’s new Bushcraft Build-Off series.

BUSHCRAFT BUILD-OFF is produced for Discovery Channel by Original Productions. For Original, Executive Producers are Sarah Whalen, Ernie Avila, Steve Robillard and Matthew Braley and Co-Executive producer Adam Flacks. For Discovery Channel, Joseph Boyle is Executive Producer.
