Houdini & Doyle: David Shore Wants Season Two and Beyond

Houdini & Doyle

Just yesterday, we posted a first look at FOX’s new series Houdini & Doyle. At the winter TCA press tour this month, creator David Shore said he hopes the series will run for several seasons.

The historical series follows the pair of real-life friends Harry Houdini (Michael Weston) and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Stephen Mangan) as they solve a series of unusual crimes.

So far, FOX has only ordered 10 episodes for the first season of Houdini & Doyle. But Shore, who also created FOX’s hit medical drama House, said the new series will not be a mini-series. On the contrary, he said “the plan is to do many, many more” seasons.

During the press conference, executive producer David Hoselton also said that further seasons will explore the tension between Houdini and Doyle. In real life, the two friends had a falling out when Doyle became convinced of supernatural entities and Houdini became increasingly critical and set out to expose fraudulent mediums.

Houdini & Doyle is set to premiere this spring.
