What’s This TV Show About?
A political drama streaming on the Netflix paid subscription platform, House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey as President Francis “Frank” Underwood and Robin Wright as First Lady Claire Underwood. Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Neve Campbell, Derek Cecil, Paul Sparks, and Joel Kinnaman also star. In season five, while Frank and Claire have always been the staunchest of allies, the cracks in their relationship are now becoming apparent.
Unless Netflix decides to publicize viewership, it is hard to determine whether web TV series like House of Cards will be cancelled or renewed for another season, so I always make other dinner arrangements. That said, this dark political piece has been a great success for the streaming service. Unless there is a creative decision to end the series, or the cast, crew, and producers can’t come to terms with Netflix, I expect House of Cards will be renewed for a sixth season. Still, this television vulture is watching all the entertainment rags for the latest developments. Subscribe for free updates on any House of Cards cancellation or renewal news.
10/30 update: Although a formal renewal was not announced, production is already underway on House of Cards, season six. Now, in the wake of allegations made against star Kevin Spacey, Netflix has announced that season six will be its final season. Details here.
