House of Cards: Season Five Release Date Announced on Inauguration Day

House of Cards TV show on Netflix: season 5 (canceled or renewed?)

Hail to the chief. The fifth season of the House of Cards TV show premieres on Netflix Tuesday, May 30, 2017. The series stars Kevin Spacey (as Francis Underwood) and Robin Wright (as Claire Underwood). The streaming service took advantage of Inauguration Day, today, to release the premiere date in an announcement video. Watch it after the jump.

While Frank and Claire have always been each other’s strongest allies, the cracks in their relationship are showing. House of Cards also stars Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Neve Campbell, Derek Cecil, Paul Sparks and Joel Kinnaman.

If you’re reading at work and can’t access social media, the above video announcement features a wrinkled and soiled inverted American flag, waving in the breeze, as well as a voice-over of children saying the Pledge of Allegiance. The tweet caption reads, “We make the terror.” The May 30, 2017 premiere Netflix premiere date flashes on screen, at the end.
