FOX is in the house. According to Deadline, the network is developing a sitcom with New Girl star Jake Johnson and director Max Winkler.
Apparently inspired by true events, the series will focus on house sitter Beans who uses other peoples’ houses for his own adventures.
From Deadline:
House Sitter was inspired by the real life adventures of Johnson’s long-time friend Brian (Captain Beans) Farrell, who will work with Bass and Bressman on developing the story. Farrell, an actor-comedian, has built a side career as a professional house sitter, spending up to three weeks a month housesitting for his Hollywood friends while they are out of town.
Farrell and Johnson, who had attended high school together in Chicago, reconnected in 2003 at a friend’s wedding. At the time, Ferrell was living in Los Angeles and Johnson in Chicago. Ferrell was looking for a roommate and invited Johnson to come out and take the extra room in his apartment with the promise to help him get a job at the casino he was working for. After a brief deliberation, Johnson took the offer and lived with Ferrell for a year as he was making his way in showbiz. Johnson also used some of Farrell’s house-sitting antics as inspiration for the 2015 feature Digging For Fire, which the New Girl actor co-wrote, produced by and starred in.”
