Hugh Hewitt, who has been a regular guest and analyst on MSNBC, is getting his own Saturday morning show on the cable channel. Deadline reports his interview show premieres tomorrow, Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 8:00am ET, and spells out Hugh Hewitt Show, in its headline, but never mentions the show’s title in the body of the article. THR reports it is a self-titled show, but never spells out whether that simply means Hugh Hewitt or Hugh Hewitt Show .
Meanwhile, TV Newser which was as the first outlet to break the news about the show, does not refer to a title at all, so for now, we’re going with Hugh Hewitt Show and will update this article over the weekend, if that’s wrong. Hewitt already hosts a radio show called The Hugh Hewitt Show on the Salem Radio Network, which is why we’re paying so much attention to the titling issue. Besides which, there’s still no mention of the show on the NBC-Universal press site, or on MSNBC. 6/24 update: We tuned in this morning and the title cards indicate the show is simply called Hugh Hewitt.
The conservative host is an interesting pick for progressive-leaning MSNBC. Still, Hewitt can frequently be seen on a variety of MSNBC TV shows and is known for his considered analysis. He’s not the only conservative whose recently joined the cable news channel’s ranks. Nicolle Wallace recently kicked off Deadline: White House, on weekday afternoons, and Greta Van Susteren, late of FOX News, now hosts For the Record with Greta at 6:00pm ET on MSNBC.
