John Malkovich is headed to the small screen in a rare television role. The actor has been cast in Humboldt, a drama that will follow a marijuana crime family. The series is being shopped to cable and streaming networks.
Deadline reported that Malkovich will take on the role of the patriarch of the crime family, who makes its money by selling marijuana.
The series is based on a nonfiction book titled Humboldt: Life on America’s Marijuana Frontier. The book was written by Emily Brady, and the series is coming from Sony TV and Anonymous Content.
