TV show description:
A dark comedy, this TV show revolves around a slacker who’s on the run from his gambling debt when he gets some divine intervention.
Buddy Dobbs (Michael Rosenbaum) is about to end his misery and jump off a bridge when Reverend Jonathan Barlow shows up and to talk him down. The reverend slips off the bridge and falls to his death so Buddy is left with the unlikely opportunity to steal the man’s identity. He ends up posing as the new gay pastor of the Trinity Lutheran Church in the small, tight-knight town of Ladner.
This leaves his bartender ex-girlfriend Leanne (Aimee Garcia) to clean up the huge mess he left behind. Buddy begins to settle into his new life as a pastor with the help of his preppy new assistant Dora (Sara Rue), alluring church treasurer Alexa (Mircea Monroe) and enthusiastic secretary Russell (Mike Kosinski). However, church president Alden Schmidt (David Rasche) senses that something isn’t quite right.
Curing sex crazed teenagers, stealing kids’ weed and reading Bible scripture may not be a bad gig for Buddy after all. Only time will tell how long he can keep up the facade.
Episode #20 — Thy Neighbor’s Wife
Buddy deals with the shocking arrival of Alexa’s husband. Dora makes a frightening discovery. Schmidt’s engagement party takes an unexpected turn.
First aired: December 7, 2016.
