Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons is returning for a seventh season. Netflix has renewed the docuseries featuring Raphael Rowe and released a trailer teasing the season’s premiere date.
The series spotlights conditions inside various prisons across the globe, mainly from the prisoners’ perspective but also from the point of view of guards and others who interact with the system.
Rowe knows something about prisons. In 1990, he and two others were wrongly convicted of murder and a series and aggravated robberies. They were sentenced to life in prison without parole. After nearly 12 years of incarceration, the trio was cleared and released. While in prison, Rowe studied journalism and was hired by BBC a year after his release.
Season seven of Inside the World’s Toughest Prisons will find Rowe showing life inside prisons in Finland, the Czech Republic, Indonesia, and the Solomon Islands.
Season six of the docuseries was released in September 2022, and the new season is set for release on September 15th.
