TV show description:
Set in Philadelphia, this sitcom features food blogger Stephanie (Tia Mowry-Hardrict). She becomes a stepmother of three children when she marries their cardiologist father, Dr. Charlie Phillips (Michael Boatman).
With advice and criticism from her outspoken mother, Maggie Turner (Sheryl Lee Ralph), Stephanie learns to balance marriage, an instant family, and career, while still holding on to her social life and identity.
A loving husband and dad, Charlie is a traditionalist, who settled down long before his new, fun-loving wife ever thought of doing so.
Oldest daughter, Gabby (Sydney Park), thinks she is old enough to run her own life. Sometimes, she relates to Stephanie more as a peer, than as a child to a parent, which complicates their relationship.
Mischievous middle child, James (Tylen Jacob Williams), is not above working the angles to his own advantage. His favorite pastime might be irritating his big sister, Gabby.
Youngest child, Aaron (Damarr Calhoun), is last of the Phillips brood and the most in need of a mom. He loves Stephanie, but is easily led astray by his sister and brother.
Series Finale:
Episode #65 — Ain’t Over Till It’s Over
With Gabby off to college a year early, Aaron and James want to go live with their mother. Stephanie and Charlie contemplate having a child.
First aired: December 19, 2015.
