Jean-Claude Van Damme is working on a new comedy pilot for Amazon, titled Jean-Claude Van Johnson, and the series now has its leading lady, according to Deadline. Kat Foster will join Van Damme in the series that will focus on his bringing his undercover alter ego out of retirement.
Deadline reported more about the plot of the series:
“Johnson’s cover as the lead role in a re-imagined action film version of Huckleberry Finn lands him right back in the midst of the danger he secretly always craves — but most importantly, back in the orbit of Vanessa (Foster), his fellow secret international operative and the woman he loves. Vanessa styles hair for movies as her cover. Years ago Jean-Claude broke her heart. Now he’s trying to spin back heel kick his way back in to her life, deliberately getting himself assigned to her new mission in Bulgaria.”
The pilot is set to start production in mid-May in Los Angeles, and Phylicia Rashad and Moises Arias also appear in the pilot. Amazon has not ordered this series yet, so fans will need to wait to see if Jean-Claude Van Damme returns to action.
