Kal-El has a new grandfather. Deadline reports Cameron Cuffe has been cast as the lead in Syfy’s upcoming Superman prequel series, Krypton.
From David S. Goyer and Damian Kindler, the drama “is set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet. It follows Superman’s grandfather Seg-El (Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos.”
Cuffe joins fellow castmember Georgina Campbell, who will play Lyta Zod. Colm McCarthy is set to direct the pilot written by Goyer and Ian Goldberg.
