TV show description:
While on a rafting trip, widow Rick Marshall (Spencer Milligan), his son Will (Wesley Eure), and daughter Holly (Kathy Coleman), experience an earthquake which catapults them over a waterfall and into an entirely different universe, the Land of the Lost. In this new world, the Marshalls find that it’s inhabited by dinosaurs, ape-like men called “Pakune,” and lizard-like men called “Sleestacks.” Equipped with only the supplies needed for their rafting trip, the family seeks shelter in a cave.

While their main objective is to return home, the family makes friends along the way– with a Brontosaurus that Holly calls “Dopey,” an educated Sleestack named Enik (Walker Edmiston), and a small Pakuni named Cha-Ka (Philip Paley).

There are also many dangers in the land of the lost that the Marshalls must endure in order to survive. Clashes with the dinosaurs and dangerous Sleestacks only make the Marshalls more determined than ever to return home, especially Rick who experiments with “pylons” which allow for travel between worlds.

Rick discovers the pylon that allows him to return home, but his children are left behind on their own. Their uncle Jack (Ron Harper) accidentally falls through to the Land of the Lost while searching for his brother, niece, and nephew and takes care of them in his brother’s absence.
