Steven Hill, star of Law & Order and Mission: Impossible, has passed away at the age of 94, Deadline reports.
During his 60-plus year career on screen, Hill appeared in dozens of films and TV series, including Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Untouchables, and Columbo.
Born in Seattle in 1922, Hill got his start on stage when he starred in the 1946 Broadway production of A Flag is Born. A year later, he joined the Actors Studio alongside fellow peers Marlon Brando and Montgomery Clift.
Hill made his film debut in 1950 when he starred in A Lady Without Passport. From there, he appeared in several live TV series, like Lux Video Theater, The Motorola Television Hour, and Goodyear Playhouse.
In 1966, Hill was cast as Dan Briggs in the CBS series Mission: Impossible. Created by Bruce Geller, the action drama followed a team of secret government agents on their dangerous missions. The cast also included Barbara Bain, Greg Morris, and Martin Landau. Hill left the series after its first season.
The actor’s last starring role was as Adam Schiff on Law & Order. Hill played the district attorney for 10 seasons before leaving in 2000.
