Will that trend continue this season or will the numbers fall. How long can this NBC crime drama continue to be a ratings success? Could it surpass the original Law && Order? Law & Order: SVU follows an elite squad of detectives who investigate sexually based crimes in New York City. This season, the cast includes Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Danny Pino, and Raul Esparza.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. For comparisons: The 15th season of Law & Order: SVU averaged a 1.8 rating in the demo and 6.70 million viewers.
