Law & Order: SVU wrapped up season 17 tonight, and the NBC series will return with season 18 in the fall. There is really no end in sight for the series, and one star wants to see the drama beat a record.
Ice-T stars on the NBC drama, and he said the following about how long he wants to see the series on the air, according to TV Insider:
“I want to do 21 years to beat Gunsmoke’s record as longest-running primetime [dramatic] TV show!”
For now, Law & Order: SVU needs to survive the grim reaper during season 18, but Dick Wolf shows are a hot ticket on the network it seems. A fourth series is being added to the Chicago franchise, and Law & Order: SVU has crossed over with Chicago PD on more than one occasion.
