In the criminal justice system, you can’t get enough Dick Wolf shows. NBC has ordered the Law & Order: True Crime TV show. The eight hour-long episode first season tracks the murderous Menendez brothers. The Law & Order: True Crime TV series is written and executive produced by René Balcer.
Here is more from EW:
In 1996, Lyle and Erik Menendez were sentenced to life in prison without a parole for murdering their parents when they were just 21 and 18 years old, respectively. They were tried separately and eventually convicted in a third trial after hung juries rendered no verdicts in the first two trials.
The show will be written and executive-produced by Law & Order veteran René Balcer. “René and I have been working together over the past three decades, and he is one of a handful of truly great showrunners with whom I’ve worked,” said Wolf in a statement. “Law & Order won the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series under his watch.”
