Ashleigh Banfield, anchor of the Legal View TV show on CNN is leaving that network, to take over the Nancy Grace TV show timeslot, on sister-station HLN. Watch Banfield announce the news on her midday Legal View TV show, below. Her new primetime HLN show will air Mondays through Thursdays, at 8:00pm ET. Whether Legal View will be cancelled or transition to another host has not been announced.
In late June, former prosecutor Nancy Grace announced she was leaving HLN and her eponymous TV show. The final episode of the Nancy Grace TV series is slated for October 13, 2016. Banfield will premiere October 17th.
The Hollywood Reporter published a statement from CNN Executive Vice President Ken Jautz:
She will bring her legal experience and views to HLN prime, tackling the day’s most pressing social and legal issues mixed with her own passionate point of view and spirited conversation. […] Ashleigh and her distinct journalistic style is the perfect fit as we continue to refocus on our news roots and increase our live hours of programming.
