FOX’s new Lethal Weapon is shaping up to be not so lethal. Recently, the network released a new poster for the upcoming reboot series, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Based on the popular film franchise, the action drama stars Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford as a mismatched pair of cops. The cast also includes Jordana Brewster.
At the TCA summer press tour, FOX chief Dana Walden said they’re hoping to avoid graphic violence with the new series:
Even the artwork you saw of Lethal Weapon, we’re trying to focus on the characters, not on guns, or the violence, in the show. You have to hit a balance. They’re trying to create stories that are relevant in this day and age and feel heightened and have life and death stakes and take place in a cop world or in the world of terrorism, it’s hard to imagine that without any violence, so it’s just trying to find the right balance.”
Lethal Weapon premieres on September 21st.
