Lethal Weapon: Season Two Ratings

Lethal Weapon TV show on FOX: season 2 ratings (canceled or season 3 renewal?)

At first, FOX seemed very cautious about the future of Lethal Weapon. The season one order was upped from 13 to 18 episodes and it was proclaimed a “full season”. Still, the Lethal Weapon TV show ended up doing very well for the network. Ratings-wise, its first season was a top-three scripted series, during the FOX 2016-17 television season. Can it retain or even build upon its audience in its second season on a new night? Will Lethal Weapon be cancelled or renewed for season three? Stay tuned. *Status update below.

A TV adaption of the successful feature film franchise, Lethal Weapon stars Damon Wayans, Clayne Crawford, Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Jordana Brewster, Johnathan Fernandez, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney, and Michelle Mitchenor. The comedic FOX buddy cop drama centers on two very different cops working together on the streets of Los Angeles. While family man Roger Murtaugh (Wayans) has everything to live for, is there nothing Martin Riggs (Crawford) won’t sacrifice to avenge the loss of his family? In season two, Murtaugh tries to support Riggs, while still keeping his own family in mind and trying to avoid the chaos his partner seems to seek.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly in the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.

5/9 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.

For comparisons: The first season of Lethal Weapon on FOX averaged a 1.57 rating in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic and a total audience of 6.536 million viewers.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
