Live with Kelly & Michael fans can rest easy … for now. Variety and Page Six report Kelly Ripa will return as co-host tomorrow and ABC has no plans of cancelling the morning talk show.
Ripa took last week off after it was announced that co-host Michael Strahan was leaving Live to host full-time on Good Morning America.
Earlier, we reported that Strahan’s departure and Ripa’s dissatisfaction could indicate ABC is planning on cancelling the program. However, recent reports say Ripa’s return this week was predicated on ABC execs assuring her the talk show will not be cancelled.
Additionally, ABC is reportedly considering letting Strahan leave Live early as to avoid any awkward tension between him and Ripa on air. Strahan’s move to GMA was originally planned for this September.
