Lost: Damon Lindelof on the Chances of a Reboot Series

Lost TV show on ABC: canceled or renewed?

Could Lost be making a comeback? Recently, executive producer Damon Lindelof spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the chances of a reboot for the ABC series.

The original show followed a diverse group of people who are stranded on a mysterious island after a plane crash. The cast included Matthew Fox, Evangeline Lilly, Josh Holloway, Terry O’Quinn, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Jorge Garcia, and Dominic Monaghan. The series ended in 2010 after six seasons.

In the interview, Lindelof said there are slim chances of a reboot since many of the original characters died:

Those characters not only died, but we showed you their experience post-death. Any new take on Lost will probably have to feature new characters, as it should.”

However, Lindelof is open to the idea of a new take on the ABC series:

[Executive producer] Carlton [Cuse] and I always said that we welcome any future crack at the [intellectual property]. Lost was bigger than us and bigger than [co-creator] J.J. [Abrams]. There’s something really exciting about the fact that George Lucas sold the Star Wars universe and now the people who grew up watching it are making it. Maybe the same thing could be said for Lost.”

What do you think? Are you a fan of Lost? Would you watch a reboot?
