Louie: Season Six of FX Series May Not Happen

Louie TV show on FX: season 6?

Is Louie gone for good? Recently, series creator and star Louis CK spoke with HitFix about the conclusion of his new drama, Horace and Pete, and the future of his FX comedy.

Louie has been on an extended hiatus since May of last year.

In an email exchange with HitFix’s Alan Sepinwall, CK said Horace and Pete, his independent drama about a 100-year-old Brooklyn bar, feels like “the best thing [he] ever made.” Meanwhile, Louie “feels very far in the past”:

It may be because Louie feels very far in the past. I can’t feel that show anymore.  But I am drenched in the feelings that  this show and making this show gave me and revealed for me.  And the feelings I have for the characters and the fine people who played them and the crew that executed the show for me with such care. I am terribly sad that it’s over and bracing for whatever wild feelings will follow in it’s absence from my daily efforts.”

Earlier this year, CK said he didn’t know if Louie would return:

I don’t know. I just don’t know. I don’t know. I think about it sometimes and I just don’t know. It’s such an autobigraphical thing that I could do a version of ‘Louie’ when he’s 60, if anyone gives a sh-t… By the time I want to, I might say, ‘Hey guys,’ and they’ll be like, ‘Who is this?’”

Meanwhile, the comedian is submitting Horace and Pete in the Emmy’s drama category. Episode 10 of the series was released this past weekend.

What do you think? Are you a fan of Louie? Do you think it should continue? Have you seen Horace and Pete?
