The original Love Connection TV show, hosted by Chuck Woolery, ran for 11 years in syndication. Now The Bachelor‘s Mike Fleiss has rebooted the dating game series for FOX and installed Bravo’s Andy Cohen as host. Can they rekindle the magic, all these years later? Will Love Connection be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Each episode of Love Connection features single people searching for love and romance. The FOX program includes the participants or “Singles” explaining to Cohen what they want in a potential “Match,” and why they have had a hard time finding someone, so far. The Single and each potential Match also discuss their dates. Eventually, the Single chooses one to take along on a romantic getaway.
In the end, if the Single chooses the same person the audience selected, he or she will receive $10,000.00. Singles who have chosen a different partner must pass on the cash prize to go on the getaway with the original choice, or dump their Match, take the money, and try to make a “Love Connection” with the audience’s pick.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.
