Syfy’s new supernatural series, The Magicians, premieres next week. And it could be the beginning of many more seasons, according to the show’s executive producer.
Based on Lev Grossman’s Magicians book trilogy, the series stars Jason Ralph as Quentin Coldwater, a grad student who is accepted into the exclusive Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy.
According to Variety’s Laura Prudom, the series’ executive producer John McNamara said “they have enough material for 6 seasons despite only 3 books.”
So far, Syfy has only committed to a 12-episode first season. If you can’t wait for the series’ premiere, you can watch the pilot early online.
The Magicians officially debuts with a two-episode premiere on January 25th.
