Los Angeles, CA. (January 20, 2017) – This week production wrapped on the third season of Making a Scene with James Franco, the hit experimental digital series that reimagines some of pop culture’s most memorable television shows, movies and music videos. James Franco returns to helm the Emmy-nominated series, commissioned by Blackpills and produced by INE Entertainment and Franco’s Rabbit Bandini Productions.

Expanding on Seasons 1 and 2 of Making a Scene with James Franco, which focused exclusively on movies and television respectively, in Season 3 Franco challenges his team to create episodes utilizing a variety of popular content across cinema, music and television. The satirical focus of each episode in Season 3 will be randomly determined by a dart board and the show’s reoccurring staple, a spinning wheel.

“Making a Scene is one of our favorite collaborations. James and Rabbit Bandini are like us, scrappy producers who love to experiment with new ideas and work with new faces,” comments Executive Producer, Eric Day of INE Entertainment. The collaboration for the series began in Season 1, when INE Entertainment was approached by CAA to develop ideas with Franco.

Composed of 10 episodes, the third season includes among others “Anaconda Scissorhands,” a parody fusion of Nicki Minaj’s Anaconda and Edward Scissorhands, “Famous Potter” a mashup of Kanye West’s “Famous” with the Harry Potter series, as well as “Poker Things,” a satirical collision of Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” with the Netflix original, Stranger Things. This season also boasts an impressive list of notable guest stars, including Josh Peck, Juno Temple, Liza Koshy, Brandon Rogers, Toby Tuner, Brittany Furlan, Kian Lawley, and Lia-Marie Johnson.

“Since we were kids, music videos have been such a big part of pop culture for us,” added Bandini’s Vince Jolivette. “So it seemed natural for us to take what we’ve been doing with our favorite movies and television shows and apply that same creative madness to some of our favorite, iconic music videos.”

Season 2 of Making a Scene with James Franco was nominated in 2016 for the first ever Outstanding Short Form Variety Series Emmy Award. The series is Executive Produced by James Franco, Vince Jolivette and Jay Davis for Rabbit Bandini and Eric Day, Mark Koops and Jennifer Heftler for INE Entertainment. Filming on Season 3 began on December 19th, 2016 in Los Angeles, CA and will premiere this April on Blackpills, a digital media company launching in early 2017.

Making a Scene with James Franco was packaged by CAA.
