TV show description:
A scripted anthology series, the first season of the Manhunt TV show is titled Manhunt: Unabomber, but each season concentrates on a new manhunt. After season one, the series moved from Discovery to Spectrum’s on-Demand platform.
The first season recounts the true story of the FBI’s pursuit of the Unabomber. This domestic terrorist is thought to be the most lethal serial bomber of all time.
The crime drama centers on FBI Agent and Criminal Profiler Jim Fitzgerald (Worthington). A trailblazer, Fitz develops and uses forensic linguistics, in order to identify Ted Kaczynski (Bettany) and capture the culprit.
An experienced, ingenious anarchist, Kaczynski started out as a mathematical wunderkind who, in 1969 walked away from an assistant professorship at UC Berkeley after only two years. By 1971, he was living in a Montana cabin, without electricity or running water, and honing his survival skills.
In the second season, titled Deadly Games, the series chronicles one of the largest and most complex manhunts on U.S. soil following the deadly terrorist attack at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta.
FBI agents hunt for an elusive serial bomber, Eric Rudolph (Huston), while a wrongly-accused innocent man, Richard Jewell (Britton), battles the FBI, the national news media, as well as his own inner demons, to prove his innocence and clear his name.
Series Finale:
Episode #18 — Open Season
Eric Rudolph, starving and bereft of allies, is captured and pleads guilty to the Olympic Bombing plus three others, finally proving Richard Jewell’s innocence to the world.
