Season one of Maniac just dropped today, but will there be a second? Director Cary Fukunaga recently spoke about the future of the Netflix TV show, Variety reports.
The dark comedy stars Jonah Hill and Emma Stone as “two lost souls who search for connection when they are patients in a pharmaceutical trial.” The cast also includes Justin Theroux.
Speaking with Business Insider, Fukunaga said if Netflix does renew Maniac for a second season he will not be involved:
For me, I like to do one and move onto something else. I’d be very happy if another season were to happen, but I think they were just thinking about this as a limited season and if there’s an appetite for another one then I think [show creator] Patrick [Somerville] would be happy to take it up and do it again. But not with me.”
