Marcus Welby, MD: Win the Robert Young TV Series on DVD! (Ended)

Though shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice are very popular today, there are few physicians with a better bedside manner than Marcus Welby, MD — as played by the legendary Robert Young.

Doctor Welby is a dedicated doctor who make house calls and his patients a priority in his life. He’s ably aided by Doctor Steven Kiley (James Brolin), a young physician who knows a lot but still has much to learn from his mentor. They’re aided by their friend and loyal secretary/nurse, Consuelo Lopez (Elena Verdugo).

Marcus Welby, MD ran for seven seasons on ABC before the show ended in 1976. Young reprised his beloved role as Doctor Welby for two reunion movies — The Return of Marcus Welby, MD in 1984 and Marcus Welby, MD: A Holiday Affair in 1988. He was joined by Verdugo in the first one as the aging physician finds himself being forced into retirement. In the second TV movie, he finds a second chance at love in Paris.
