TV show description:
A family sitcom loosely inspired by the life of star and co-creator, Marlon Wayans, the Marlon TV show centers on Marlon Wayne (Wayans). He and ex-wife Ashley (Atkins) are the parents of a teenaged daughter, Marley (Taylor) and a younger son, Zack (O’Neil).
Although Marlon is devoted to his kids, he’s pretty much an overgrown kid, himself. He is prone to whimsy, and his parental advice leaves much to be desired. Thanks to his colorful personality, Marlon has become something of an internet superstar.
Ashley, meanwhile, is extremely level-headed. Still, she largely tolerates her ex-husband’s antics, much to the chagrin of her friend, Yvette (Webb).
Marlon has been letting his academically-minded friend, Stevie (Riddle), crash on his couch for a couple of weeks — for the past couple of years. Although the guys seem to be polar opposites, they still come through for each other.
Sometimes, Marlon and Ashley have trouble letting go of the past, but they’re committed to remaining happily divorced.
Series Finale:
Episode #20 — Funeral Party
Marlon decides to throw himself a funeral party after attending his barber’s funeral; everyone speaks at Marlon’s party, talking about the insensitive jokes he made at their expense; Marlon worries that he is too harsh on everyone.
First aired: July 12, 2018.
