Marlowe: CW Developing Drama About Real-Life African-American Detective

The CW TV shows

The CW is on the case. Deadline reports the network is developing a new TV series called Marlowe.

From Devon Greggory, the detective drama “is not based on the famous Raymond Chandler character Philip Marlowe but on the real-life African-American private investigator — a Jamaican immigrant and World War I veteran — who allegedly inspired him.”

The series will follow Samuel Marlowe as he solves crimes in 1930s Los Angeles. Greggory is set to executive produce the project alongside Aaron Kaplan, Louise Ransil, and Dana Honor.

What do you think? Are you a fan of detective dramas? Would you watch Marlowe?
