The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has some new company. Deadline reports Kevin Pollak, Bailey De Young, Joel Johnstone, and Caroline Aaron have joined the Amazon TV series.
From Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, the dramedy follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel (Rachel Brosnahan), a 1950s housewife who begins a career as a stand-up comic. Prime Video has already picked up the series for two seasons.
From Deadline:
Pollak will play Morris “Moishe” Maisel, Joel’s (Michael Zegen) father, a tough, streetwise man who is not afraid of anything. He feels like no one owes him anything and he owes no one anything as well. Self-made in every sense of the word, Moishe believes himself to be a man of God at home but a man of the streets at work. De Young will portray Imogene, Midge’s friend and wife of Archie (Joel Johnstone).
Johnstone will play Archie, the nice, good guy who is the co-worker and best friend of Midge’s husband Joel Maisel (Michael Zegen). Aaron will portray Shirley Maisel, Joel’s mother.”
