Marvel’s The Punisher will be missing a core character. According to TVInsider, Rosario Dawson will not appear in the upcoming Netflix TV show.
Dawson has appeared as the character Claire Temple in all of Netflix’s Marvel series so far, including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. A spin-off of Daredevil, The Punisher will center on Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), a vigilante known as “the Punisher.”
Dawson explained why she won’t be able to appear in The Punisher:
For The Defenders, it was difficult to get everybody together. People are busy! There are so many times where I really want it to happen. I really wanted to do a cameo on The Punisher, but it doesn’t always work that way.”
Marvel’s The Punisher has already begun production and is slated to debut on Netflix later this year.
