Watch the video announcement for Marvel’s The Defenders TV show release date from Netflix. The newest installment in the Marvel universe franchise premieres on Friday, August 18, 2017. Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil aka Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox); Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter); Luke Cage (Mike Colter); and Iron Fist aka Danny Rand (Finn Jones).
Neflix says, “This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.” The cast also includes Élodie Yung as Elektra Natchios. Sigourney Weaver guest stars as Alexandra. Other guest stars include Rosario Dawson, Jessica Henwick, Rachel Taylor, Scott Glenn, Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie-Anne Moss, Simone Missick, and Eka Darville.
Marvel’s The Defenders Drops to Netflix August 18th
If you blink, you might miss it. The “Midland Circle Security Elevator B,” video shows Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Matt Murdock, and Danny Rand during an elevator ride.
When Jessica realized they’re being recorded, she smashes the camera and the footage cuts off. When the video ends, the timestamp reads 08:18:20:17 aka 08/18/2017, i.e. the Netflix series premiere date.
Here’s another little tip from Deadline:
If you type in the numbers at the top left of the video into your browser (23.253.120.81), it will take you to the New York Bulletin’s website (Karen Page’s place of business in Daredevil). Scroll to the bottom and you’ll see the premiere confirmed. The line reads “Watch ‘Marvel’s The Defenders‘ All Episodes Streaming Only on Netflix August 18.”
We’ll save you from typing in the IP number. Here’s a link to NYBulletin.com. The message in fine (not to mention light grey) print at the very bottom of the page reads, “Watch “Marvel’s The Defenders” All Episodes Streaming Only on Netflix August 18 | © 2017 MARVEL & ABC Studios.”
