Being Mary Jane: Production Begins on BET’s Series Finale Movie

It’s the beginning of the end for Being Mary Jane. This week, BET announced filming has begun on the TV show’s upcoming two-hour finale.

The drama revolves around the life of a successful TV news anchor from Atlanta, Mary Jane Paul (Gabrielle Union). The cast also includes Lisa Vidal, Margaret Avery, Aaron D. Spears, Richard Brooks, BJ Britt Jr., Raven Goodwin, Richard Roundtree, Valarie Pettiford, Chike Okonkwo, and Michael Ealy.

The two-hour series finale of Being Mary Jane is slated to debut on BET this fall.

NEW YORK — BET Networks announced that production is underway for the two-hour series finale of “BEING MARY JANE,” starring Gabrielle Union in Atlanta, GA. Morris Chestnut joins the all-star cast including Michael Ealy, Lisa Vidal, Richard Roundtree, Margaret Avery, Richard Brooks, BJ Britt, Raven Goodwin and Nicholas Gonzalez. The “BEING MARY JANE” series finale movie is slated to air Fall 2018.

“BEING MARY JANE” is executive produced by Gabrielle Union, Mara Brock Akil, Salim Akil and Jeff Morrone. “BEING MARY JANE” is co-executive produced by Patrik-Ian Polk and Alexander A. Motlagh. Writers of the finale are Polk, Devon K. Shepard and Alyson Fouse and the movie is being directed by Adam Shankman. The series was created by Brock Akil.”
