TV show description:
Based on the film and book of the same name, this innovative anti-war sitcom follows the doctors and support staff of the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital during the Korean War.

As the series begins, the two main surgeons are the irreverent Captains Benjamin Franklin “Hawkeye” Pierce (Alan Alda) and John Francis “Trapper” McIntyre (Wayne Rogers). They are under the command of easygoing Lieutenant Colonel Henry Braymore Blake (McLean Stevenson), who is assisted by sweet Corporal Walter Eugene “Radar” O’Reilly (Gary Burghoff). Hawkeye and Trapper’s lack of respect for the military is a constant source of ire to fellow surgeon Major Franklin “Frank” Burns (Larry Linville) and head nurse Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan (Loretta Swit).

Over time, Henry, Trapper, and Frank were replaced by old-school Colonel Sherman T. Potter (Harry Morgan), affable Captain B.J. Hunnicutt, (Mike Farrell), and snobby Major Charles Emerson Winchester III (David Ogden Stiers).

Others in the company were Corporal Maxwell Q. Klinger (Jamie Farr), and Chaplain Francis John Patrick Mulcahy (William Christopher).
