Masters of the Air is coming to Apple TV+. The streaming service is now ready to make its own content like Netflix and Hulu. This first project will be an eight-hour limited event series, and it will cost $200 million to produce.
Masters of the Air is the last part of the trilogy, which consists of Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Those first two parts aired on HBO, but the cable network decided to leave the historical drama genre. Apple TV+ decided to give the project a home, per Deadline.
Masters of the Air is based on the book by Donald L. Miller, and the series will bring the story of how the pilots of WWII had an impact to the small screen. The series comes from Amblin Television and Playtone with Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman acting as executive producers.
Masters of the Air will be exclusive to Apple TV+. There is no word of a cast or premiere date at this time.
