TV show description:      
This comedy/drama TV show was created by Ray Romano and Mike Royce who previously collaborated on Everybody Loves Raymond. The series focuses on three men in their late forties who have been best friends since college. None of them are where they expected to be at this point in their lives.

Joe Tranelli (Romano) once aspired to be a professional golfer but now owns a party store. A recently separated father of two, he finds it hard to accept that his marriage is over. Joe moved temporarily into an extended stay hotel and refuses to seek anything permanent. There’s a “fantasy woman” that he keeps seeing at different points in his life, but his friends doubt that he’ll ever act on it. Joe is the more neurotic of the three friends, and his relationship struggles with his wife do nothing to help this. He has a gambling problem, but is either in denial or trying to hide it from everyone else.

An actor, Terry Elliot (Scott Bakula) is the epitome of the confirmed bachelor. His friends think he lives the perfect life since he doesn’t have to go into work until around noon and dates younger women that are sometimes half his age. Deep down, he doesn’t seem to covet this life as much as they think he does. He would like to be settled down by now, both in a serious relationship and in his profession.He can’t seem to find good acting jobs and supplements it with infomercial work and a gig as a yoga instructor.

Owen Thoreau, Jr. (Andre Braugher) seems to have a blessed life as well. He has a great family life and a steady job, but things aren’t always what they seems. His marriage is on solid ground, but his three young kids keep him and his wife hopping. His job causes him more stress than anything else, something that isn’t very helpful to his diabetes. He works at his father’s car dealership, yet isn’t the top salesman. He takes a lot of heat from his dad for it. He’d like to quit, but his wife, who’s thinking about their young kids and ongoing home remodeling projects, won’t stand for it.
