Will there be a How I Met Your Mother spin-off? Deadline reports 20th Century Fox TV is hiring new writers for a spin-off to the CBS sitcom.
As we reported earlier, the studio began developing the project How I Met Your Dad with This Is Us writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. However, the project was delayed because the two were promoted to co-showrunners on their NBC series.
Now, FOX chairman Dana Walden says there’s still a chance for How I Met Your Dad. Apparently, 20th Century Fox TV is developing the spin-off with new writers:
They will be starting from scratch. It’s one that’s been slowly cooked. If it’s the right idea the right execution, we’ll take that.”
