Minka Kelly is cooking up a new TV show. Entertainment Weekly reports the actress has plans for an upcoming travel cooking series.
Kelly played Lyla Garrity on Friday Night Lights between 2006 and 2009. She’s also appeared in Parenthood, Almost Human, and Man Seeking Woman.
The untitled cooking series will follow Kelly and food blogger Gaby Dalkin as they travel across the United States, “learning about all of those fascinating things to do with our food and the process where it goes from farm to table.”
Kelly recently graduated from cooking school and says the hobby has become a passion:
With what I do, we get a lot of downtime and I think it’s important, at least for me, to always be doing things to keep my brain engaged. I love to cook, so I just thought I would take it to the next level.
I was always so reliant on recipes, and I just wanted to be more confident in the kitchen. I love cooking for friends. My favorite thing to do is to have cooking parties at my house. Plus, it’s just a really practical hobby.”
